Study environment

Laboratory 

The Technical University of Denmark and the University of Copenhagen both have active study environments with good student facilities and a large number of student clubs and associations. Consult the general webpages of DTU and KU.

Teachers

The teaching at the Master’s program in Aquatic Science and Technology is primarily conducted by researchers from the National Institute of Aquatic Resources, Technical University of Denmark (DTU Aqua) and from Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen (KU). Teaching support is additionally provided from DTU Management Engineering, DTU Environment, DTU Vet, DTU Food and DTU Mathematics.  

Scientifc study environment

As a student you will gain access to a unique and strong aquatic science and engineering study environment where you will get the opportunity to solve complex practical and theoretical issues in collaboration with highly qualified scientists and teachers.

 

During your studies you will benefit from the institutions’ strong networks with private companies, international organizations, and research institutions in Denmark and abroad. This will create opportunities for work placement and external projects.

 

If you wish to pursue a career in research, you can apply for a PhD after the completion of the Master’s program.

 

Students

The Master’s program is international. You can therefore expect to study alongside students from other countries and gain valuable experience with cooperation across different cultures.  

Locations

As a student at the Master’s program you will be enrolled at the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby 10 km north of Copenhagen. You will attend classes here, at DTU Aqua in Charlottenlund, and at the premises of the Department of Biology at the University of Copenhagen.


A few selected courses are offered at the regional DTU Aqua sites in Silkeborg and Hirtshals in Jutland. Learn more about the study environment at DTU Aqua's localities in Jutland:
